When I followed your steps I recieved an error about a default provider not being configured. **scratches head. Going to give the web.config manual way a try now. Worked pretty easy in 2007. Thx.

If you want to use ready-made solutions for the management of FBA users, you should take a look here:

http://www.devit.eu/products/121-fba-manager-sp...

@Bharat:
I just read that post and the author is wrong. I don't have the time or patience to register for another blog site...but the statement "FBA is now Claims" is entirely misleading.

You have an option on SharePoint 2010:
> Claims
> Classic Mode {FBA}

The Microsoft reference is here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262350(office.14).aspx

I'd say, ensure you know what method you are using.
Also, some screens may have changed from the beta used in these screen shots and RTM...so poke around Application and Authorization settings.

In need of help...I have been through this article, everything seemed to be going great until I got to the login screen.
I type in my username and password, hit sign in and nothing...the page just refreshes and clears the text boxes? I can type in any value and the same happens....its like it doesnt even want to try!!

I have created a user and set that user as the site collection admin as described?

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thx

@Ridwan not only are you a thief, you're a thief with a horrendous excuse. Plagiarsm isn't received too kindly and I hope "making a deadline" was worth torpedoing any semblance of credibility you once had. Here's an article I wrote up on the topic in case you're not familiar with plagiarism: http://sqlchicken.com/2010/01/the-plague-of-plagiarism/

@Everyone except Ridwan:
Ridwan is referring to the "liberation" of this article and posting as his own original work (images included) on a SharePoint ezine with no credit made to SummitCloud or the actual author, Mr. Leibowitz. That's not your typical hijack on a personal blog...This was submitted to a publishing site by Ridwan using his own (companies) byline. Once discovered, we spoke to the editor and that article has since been removed from the ezine site. Above appears to be a lame attempt at an apology...although I've never seen one like this before. I'm not even sure an apology is in there.

@Ridwan:
Yours has to be bar none, the *best* excuse ever for plagiarism and copyright infringement I've ever heard..."I was under pressure to deliver the article in a certain amount of time." Yeah, deadlines can be a bitch, huh?

Incidentally, this article on FBA for SharePoint 2010 was NOT authored by Damon Armstrong. He has no affiliation with SummitCloud. This was authored by David Leibowitz. Mr. Armstrong did however, author the OTHER ARTICLE you plagiarized from the Simple-Talk website on FBA in SharePoint 2007.

Good luck with your future time management.
